Munger division is an administrative geographical unit of Bihar state of India. Munger is the administrative headquarters of the division. The division consists of Munger district, Jamui district, Khagaria district, Lakhisarai district, Begusarai district and Sheikhpura district. Earlier all these districts were part of Munger (earlier known as Monghyr) district.
History
Munger has seen five districts partitioned off from its territory: Begusarai in 1972; Khagaria in 1988; and Jamui in 1991; and Lakhisarai district and Sheikhpura in 1994.
