he Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR) is an Indian defence laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Located in Leh, Ladakh, it conducts research on cold arid agro-animal technologies. DFIHAR is screening and identifying the medicinal and aromatic plants in Leh-Ladakh region to exploit them for use for defence purposes and also on greenhouse technologies for high altitude and cold desert areas. The present director of DIHAR is Dr. Om Prakash Chaurasia.
